From about 3,500 international contest participants, ad2, of El Segundo, California, won a Platinum Award for their creativity in web interactive capabilities in the 2007 Hermes Creative Awards. Another Platinum Award winning company is the AGP & Associates, a Michigan marketing communications business team who were recognized for their overall web site and design.
Quite a few websites were recognized for their excellence in website design. For instance, the MWWW Group - Gasel Cellars Estate Winery is another platinum winner, from New Jersey, who won for their overall website and design as well. Another platinum winner for overall web site design is the Sun Tran group from Tuscon Arizona.
Here are the Gold Winners
CC Communications won a gold award for their web design. Their winning Cato Corp. web site design was cited for “being a benchmark in the industry” and the company was also honored by recognition of having a “creative talent that exceeds a high standard of excellence”. CC Communications is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and is an online marketing and internet strategy company. The company is involved with almost 500 organizations.
The winning website has a fast load time despite the heavy graphics necessary for the clothing site and the page has an orderly interface through which it is easy to navigate. The website has a spartan look from its simplicity and it resulted from a collaborative effort put in by both the design and the corporate marketing team of CC Communications.
At the same awards, MMI Associates, Inc. won a Gold Award in the creative awards show for their RelocateTriangle.com blog. The blog is a relocation resource for people who want to move to the Triangle area of North Carolina. The blog, which began in 2006, posted entries from company employees who were providing information about the community to their fellow employees who were new to the area. MMI Associates, Inc. is from Raleigh, North Carolina.
As an international competition, participants are professionals from fields such as the web, freelancers, communications, media production, marketing and advertising. The Hermes Creative Awards group recognizes excellence in “emerging technologies” and “the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs” and the entries are judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals which also sets the standards of excellence, monitors related recognition and awards programs and provides judges for similar competitions.
The Hermes Statuette is Optional
Winners of the Hermes Creative Awards are allowed to buy Hermes statuettes and get a foiled certificate for their winning entries. In order to keep competition fees down, the statuette is an optional purchase of $185 for platinum and gold winners. A platinum or gold winner can have their name engraved on a Hermes statuette that is 13 inches tall and is mounted on a wood base. The The winners are also allowed to use the Hermes press releases and graphics for recognition in the media and publications. The competition opens for the 2008 awards in the spring of next year.
